Randy Mishler has been an IP attorney for over 30 years and has been involved in all aspects of IP with a focus on protecting innovations and licensing IP.  Randy worked with BlackBerry’s patent licensing group for 18 years with his most recent position being VP of Intellectual Property and Licensing leading the IP team in protecting patentable inventions and licensing BlackBerry’s extensive, and industry leading, patent portfolio.  During his tenure at BlackBerry, Randy was involved in numerous patent licensing discussions resulting in license agreements that were mutually beneficial both monetarily and scope of license.  Prior to joining BlackBerry, Randy worked for Nortel Networks and was an IP attorney with Baker Botts.

 

Randy holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Purdue University and was a software engineer for 10 years before obtaining a law degree magna cum laude from Indiana University.  Randy is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
