Bryan Giles is an intellectual property (IP) attorney with extensive experience developing and implementing strategies for procuring, managing, and enforcing IP rights involving a diverse range of technologies, including wireless communication, software, “smart” drug delivery devices, medical sensors, digital therapeutics, and patient diagnostics.  In addition, Bryan has helped clients to evaluate and manage obligations associated with their participation in standard-setting organizations (SSOs), such as the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).    

  

Prior to joining Patent Platform Services, Bryan served as the lead in-house patent attorney on digital health matters for two multinational pharmaceutical companies where he was responsible for building internal IP capabilities and processes to support the companies’ increasing investments in technology-enabled patient solutions.  Bryan was also a senior patent attorney at InterDigital, Inc. where he oversaw several patent portfolios in support of the company’s significant cellular licensing business and represented the company in policy discussions within the IP committees of various SSOs and with congressional staffers and members of Congress.  

  

Bryan attended Drexel University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  He subsequently worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for Ford Motor Corporation and Philips Medical Systems before pursuing his law degree at Temple University, where he was a Research Editor for the Temple Law Review and from which he graduated cum laude.  He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
